Secretariat is my all time favorite racehorse he was a beautiful and all around powerful animal. I would give anything to have seen him run in real life. Here is some background.
Secretariat was born on March 30th 1970his sire was Bold Ruler and his dam was Somethingroyal, from Princequillo . He was born on Meadow Farm in Caroline County Virginia. He was owned by Penny Chenery later know as Penny Tweety and his trainer was Lucien Laurin and was mainly jockied by Ron Turcotte . Secretariat grew to be 16.2 hands tall and weighed 1,175 pounds. Secretariat went on to win the triple crown and his records set at the Belmont stakes (he won buy 31 lengths going at 37.5 mph AMAZING) have not even come close to being challenged! After his retirement he went on to raise high studd prices. Secretariat passed away on October 4 1989 and is barried next to some of the greatest racehorse of all time including Man o' War!! Secretariat ia a legacy that will never b forgotten!!!!
