I hope you all know that history was made in the 2012 Derby!
I'll Have Another became the first horse to win the Kentucky Derby starting from the 19th post.
Since 2000, 11 different post positions have won the Kentucky Derby with both the 16th and eighth post positions serving as the starting gate twice. Last year's winner, Animal Kingdom, started from the 16th post. Bodemeister, who finished second to I'll Have Another, started the race from the eighth post this year.
I'll tell you, starting from the 19th post is death. Thats like, racing sucide. The last thing you want to do with signing up posts is get anything more than, like the 10th. Worst I've ever had was 9th--I got 9th a LOT, cause I always was the oldest in my devision. Never won on 9. Won quite a bit on 6, though.
